Dear Friends,

I hope this finds you well and enjoying all that summer brings. It was a pleasure to see so many of you at our Equal Access to Justice event in early June. I was so honored to stand alongside our NHLAA staff, board, and community to celebrate the work of IRIS, The Herbert and Nell Singer Foundation, and Justice Lubbie Harper. I appreciate all of your support in making this event a wonderful success and allowing us to continue providing critical services to our community.

At the core of our mission is to fulfill the hope that everyone has fair and equal access to our justice system. Your financial support allows us to realize our commitment to the community and continue to:

  • Ensure our clients maintain their right to safe, decent, and affordable housing by providing legal representation in housing court;
  • Enable children to access their right to an education by ensuring they have the social, emotional, and educational supports in their homes and schools;
  • Help workers secure wages they’ve rightfully earned; and
  • Keep individuals and families safe from abuse and other unsafe conditions.

It is easy to give to NHLAA and we invite you to give at a level with which you are comfortable. You can donate online or send a check made out to Friends of New Haven Legal Assistance.

Want to Leave a Lasting Impact?

A bequest or other planned gift to NHLAA makes a difference in the lives of the low-income families and individuals who need legal assistance. You can do more than you thought possible by including NHLAA in your long-term plans, while achieving your own personal and financial goals. Your support will leave a lasting impact at LAA for generations of clients to come. To learn more about joining our Legacy Society, please contact Alexis Smith (203-946-4811 or asmith@nhlegal.org).

With Warm Regards,

Alexis H. Smith
